The idea behind Rubber Boom

The Idea Behind Rubber Boom

By February 15, 2014

It all started in August 2012 with the sketch below, in which I had the simple idea of a game set in deep Amazon Jungle. At the time, my mind was occupied by the mysterious explorer Percy Fawcett and his disappearance in 1925 while searching the Lost City of Z.

The mystic and legendary British explorer Colonel Percy Harrison Fawcett disappeared in the unknown and unexplored territory of Brazil's Mato Grosso in 1925. For ten years he had wandered the forests and death-filled rivers in search of a fabled lost city. Finally, convinced that he had discovered the location, he set out for the last time with two companions, one of whom was his eldest son, to destination ''Z,''never to be heard from again. The thrilling and mysterious account of Fawcett's ten years of travels in deadly jungles and forests in search of a secret city was compiled by his younger son from manuscripts, letters, and log books. What happened to him after remains a mystery.

Percy Fawcett

It was the book of David Grann, The Lost City of Z: A Tale of Deadly Obsession in the Amazon.

You can read more about Percy Fawcett here in detail, believe me, you'll not regret it.

Especially the automobile industry needed rubber in insane quantities which was then only available in the Amazon,

You sell everything that was left and start your journey to Brazil. First to Rio de Janeiro and then to Manaus.

As an ex-pilot and a war veteran, your brother buys a small airplane and starts charter flights over Amazon. And you purchase a small property in the jungle and start your first enterprise.

Your brother takes you to your property in the heart of the Amazon jungle.

After a long journey, you arrive to your property in the middle of the jungle. After completing 3 years of rubber collecting, your brother will pick you up with his airplane.

Good luck!
